How Voting Works in Group Games

How a turn is decided by vote, the voting settings, and how many votes count on each plan.

Last updated About 1 hour ago

In a group game nobody plays the hero alone. Each turn ends with a few choices, everyone votes, and the winning choice is what the hero does next.

One turn, step by step

  1. A new event is posted with its choices.

  2. Players vote: on the website by choosing an option on the game page, on Discord with the numbered buttons. Each person has one vote per turn.

  3. Voting closes when the Maximum Voting Time runs out or the Maximum Vote Count is reached, whichever comes first.

  4. The choice with the most votes plays out, and the next event follows.

If the timer runs out before anyone has voted, the story waits until at least one vote comes in.

The settings

The game’s creator chooses these when launching the game and can change them later (on the website: ⋮ on the game card → Voting Settings).

What it does

Maximum Voting Time

How long each vote stays open: 1 minute to 24 hours, 15 minutes by default.

Maximum Vote Count

Posting Mode

Each turn counts the first votes received, up to a limit set by the creator’s plan:
