Community Vote Games
Run a story your community votes on: setting it up, voting rules, how many votes count, who pays and how to manage it.
Last updated About 1 hour ago
A Community Vote game is played by a crowd. Each turn, everyone who opens the game can vote on what happens next, and the winning choice plays out. It’s a great way to run a story for friends, followers or a whole community.
Set one up
Click Create Game_ and choose Community Vote.
Pick a world.
Choose the Visual Experience: Pure Text, Storybook, Cinematic or Periodic. Then pick an art style and your hero’s picture (skipped for Pure Text).
On Launch, name the game and set up voting, then launch it.
Voting settings
Maximum Voting Time: how long each vote stays open, from 1 minute to 24 hours (15 minutes by default).
Maximum Vote Count: voting closes early once this many votes are in. Your plan sets the highest number you can choose.
Posting Mode: Auto-Post publishes each new turn straight away; Manual Review lets you read it first and click Accept & Post.
Event Text Length: short summaries or the full narrative.
Voting closes when the time runs out or the vote count is reached, whichever comes first. If the timer runs out with no votes, the story waits for at least one.
How many votes count
Everyone can vote, and each turn counts the first votes received up to the limit of the game creator’s plan:
Who pays
The game’s creator pays for its turns; voting is free. On a paid plan, text turns are included. Pictures cost 150 credits each in community games. If the game uses a Sponsored shared world, the sponsor pays while the sponsorship lasts.
Run your game
Your community games are under Games → Community Games. The ⋮ menu on a game’s card has:
Voting Settings and Image Settings: change the rules as you go.
Pause / Resume: stop the story for a while and pick it up later.
Delete Game: remove it for good. It will no longer be available to play.
